Deer Carousel Chart

I’m using this chart on my biggest project to date!!!! My first sweater!!!! ^_^ Exciting! It’s still a work-in-progress and it’s not even for me, but I’m really happy with it anyway. When finished, it’ll grace my sister – who purchased the yarn and payed me for my time ^_~

My sister is in love with deer (particularly bucks – no she’s not a hunter) and asked me to make her a deer carousel sweater. Actually she asked me ages ago, but the pattern I was going to use was old-fashioned and had a somewhat poor visible quality. So I’m now using the pattern 3/4 Sleeve Classic Pullover #80667AD by Lion Brand Yarn and a modified version of the John Deere Chart by Lise Lafrance. Both patterns are available for free on Ravelry.com

Here’s my modified chart (btw,  not sure why the right side is smooshed… but I’m not sure how to fix it). To download the pdf version, click here Mod Deer Carousel.

Trail Blazers Logo Chart

I was showing off my in-progress pullover that I’m currently knitting for my little sister to my husband and his friend. During the conversation, I offered to knit my DH’s friend something warm: socks, fingerless mitts, or a hat… He asked for a beanie. So guess what his Christmas gift is going to be? ^_~

My husband gave me the idea of incorporating the Trail Blazers logo on it. After searching Ravelry.com’s database and not finding any patterns, I made my own. And here it is! (Although it looks long, if your stitches are more equally tall and wide (these were originally squares) then it’s fine).

James Cameron’s Avatar Scarf Chart

A few years ago I had the idea to create a knitting pattern based on the striped blue skin of Avatar’s Na’vi (if you haven’t seen Avatar, I highly recommend it!). My 1st project was going to be a poncho, but the pattern I was following called for 3 strands of yarn held together and with 2 colors it became way too bulky and stiff for my likes.

So the idea has evolved into a double-knit scarf. I prefer double-knitting for color-worked patterns because I don’t care to see the messy backside. Also, all the color changes require that I knit in stockinette stitch which tends to roll (and I don’t care for that either).

Here’s the chart!
